Our School Council

Spring 2022

The school council are continuing to meet weekly this half term. They have been thinking about how to celebrate children's mental health day. To encourage their friends to think what they are good at and to feel happy about themselves, the school council have come up with a great idea of celebrating this with a dress down day called "Da-da! Dress-down Day".
Led by the school council, children will wear clothes to celebrate what they are proud of about themselves . Children will be dressed in outfits ranging from  from their football club kit to clothes which reflects their love of colour and individuality.
In the future, the school council are considering how to continue to support Water Aid, which is the children's democratically chosen school charity for the year.

Autumn 2021

The classes at William Levick have voted for two school counsellors to represent them on the William Levick school council 2021-2022.

The full school council met for the first time - and it was a very exciting first meeting. Everyone felt honoured to have been chosen by their classmates.

The school council is looking forward to help the school to become an even happier, safer, friendlier learning environment for their friends as well as supporting the wider school community. Since meeting for the first time the school council has voted that the William Levick charity for the year to be Water Aid. The school council listened carefully to one of the youngest members speaking passionately about the need for everyone to have clean water.

Happiness and well-being is also a priority for our 14 members. They have asked the children to wear yellow on one particular Thursday and to learn some mindfulness to help everyone have an even better understanding of an emotional mental health. Soon we will be planning our action plan for the whole year.

What an exciting year ahead !
